Caros Leitores do BOMGEAM, Feliz Ano Novo 2023!
O número 2 de nosso boletim BOMGEAM edição 9 (2022), que já veste a recente classificação Qualis CAPES B4, éramos C, finalmente chega na virada do Novo Ano 2023, simultaneamente à instalação de um novo governo ao nível Federal em Brasília e nos Estados da Federação em suas respectivas capitais, que tenhamos de fato um Novo Ano, de muitos sucessos e Paz.
A covid-19 parece não mais assustar, e passará a conviver com todos nós. A guerra na Ucrânia iniciada com a invasão Russa, ainda persiste. Mas as previsões funestas advindas destes dois episódios de consequências mundiais, estão sendo superadas, não atingindo a situação apocalítica prenunciada por muitos visionários. Felizmente ela não aconteceu; nem no setor energético, a Europa não “congelou” ainda (?) (o gás na Europa já apresenta preço menor do que antes da guerra) e nem nos alimentos. O Agronegócio no Brasil não perdeu estímulo, já que os estoques de fertilizantes foram rapidamente garantidos.
Como prometemos ainda no número 1 da edição 9 (2022) lançamos no Natal passado recente o primeiro número especial do BOMGEAM: Special Issue on Herbert (Prof. Dr. Dr. Herbert Pöllmann) com 13 contribuições de amigos seus do Brasil, da Alemanha e da África do Sul. Recomendamos a sua leitura, pois envolve tanto trabalhos científicos dedicados ou em conjunto com Herbert, realizados com ele ainda em vida, como depoimentos pessoais sobre a convivência com este memorável professor e amigo.
Em breve lançaremos o nosso segundo número especial AGROMINERAIS sob a coedição da profa. Dra. Simone Paz, com sete contribuições técnico-científicas, que chega em um momento muito oportuno, quando se discute a necessidade de desenvolver novos produtos sustentáveis e de menor custo para o desenvolvimento da agricultura e do agronegócio no Brasil e por que não, além de suas fronteiras.
O presente número 2 da edição 9 (2022) contempla três artigos dedicados aos materiais construtivos da Catedral de Porto Nacional dominados por arenitos ferruginizados (crostas lateríticas?); à composição química, mineralógica e minerais pesados da Argila de Belterra na mina de bauxita de Miltônia; e finalmente, depois de muita insistência, ao manganês, através do artigo Sedimentary Manganese Deposits in Carajás.
Em novembro passado finalmente conseguimos realizar a viagem Pitoresca Estrada Real sob a primorosa organização do empolgado geólogo Luiz Cláudio Lima e com mais três participantes tão somente, Marcondes, Rubens Kautzmann e Milson Xavier. Foi perfeita. Partida de Belo Horizonte, Diamantina, Serro, Conceição do Mato Dentro, Santa Bárbara e Ouro Preto. Aqui alguns ingressaram no SIMEXMIN 2022, por mais três dias. Foi também um excelente e belo evento, com muitas novidades, congraçamento e boas perspectivas no setor mineral. Também se fechou a próxima Pitoresca, denominada Pitoresca do Sertão a ser realizada em novembro de 2023, no nordeste do Brasil, sob a organização do geólogo e engenheiro de Segurança do Trabalho Milson Xavier, um amante e vivente do Nordeste. Todos estão convidados a participar da mesma.

Dear BOMGEAM Readers, Happy New Year!
Number 2 of our newsletter BOMGEAM edition 9 (2022), which already wears the recent Qualis CAPES B4 classification, was C, finally arrives at the turn of the New Year 2023, simultaneously with the installation of a new government at the Federal level in Brasília and in the States of the Federation, in their respective capitals, may we indeed have a New Year, with many successes and Peace.
Covid-19 seems to no longer scare and will start to live with all of us. The war in Ukraine started with the Russian invasion, persists. But the dire predictions arising from these two episodes of worldwide consequences are being overcome, not reaching the apocalyptic situation foreshadowed by many visionaries. Fortunately, it didn’t happen; nor in the energy sector, Europe has not “frozen” yet (?) (gas in Europe already has a lower price than before the war) and neither in food. Agribusiness in Brazil has not lost momentum, as fertilizer stocks have been secured.
As we promised in issue 1 of issue 9 (2022), last Christmas we launched the first special issue of BOMGEAM: Special Issue on Herbert (Prof. Dr. Dr. Herbert Pöllmann) with 13 contributions from your friends from Brazil, Germany and from South Africa. We recommend reading it, as it involves both scientific works dedicated to or in conjunction with Herbert, carried out while he was still alive, as well as personal testimonies about living with this memorable teacher and friend.
Soon we will launch our second special issue AGROMINERAL under the co-editing of Prof. Dr. Simone Paz, with seven technical-scientific contributions, which arrives at a very opportune moment, when discussing the need to develop new sustainable and lower cost products for the development of agriculture and agribusiness in Brazil and why not, in addition to its borders.
The present number 2 of edition 9 (2022) includes three articles dedicated to the construction materials of Porto Nacional Cathedral dominated by ferruginized sandstones (lateritic crusts?); the chemical, mineralogical and heavy mineral composition of Belterra Clay in the Miltônia bauxite mine; and finally, after much insistence, to manganese, through the article Sedimentary Manganese Deposits in Carajás.
Last November we were finally able to carry out the Pitoresca Estrada Real trip under the exquisite organization of the enthusiastic geologist Luiz Cláudio Lima and with only three other participants, Marcondes, Rubens Kautzmann and Milson Xavier. It was perfect. Departure from Belo Horizonte, Diamantina, Serro, Conceição do Mato Dentro, Santa Bárbara and Ouro Preto. Here some joined SIMEXMIN 2022, for three more days. It was also an excellent and beautiful event, with many novelties, harmony and good perspectives in the mineral sector. The next Pitoresca was also closed, called Pitoresca do Sertão to be held in November 2023, in northeastern Brazil, organized by geologist and Occupational Safety engineer Milson Xavier, a lover and resident of the Northeast. Everyone is invited to participate in the same.
